Has been writing poetry since he first learned to read. Began practicing on stages as early as 4 years old performing in programs from church to school. Starred in his first play in the first grade, playing the role of a doctor repairing sentences by placing the proper punctuation's in the right place. He considers himself a concept writer, better defined as his high school teacher expressed to him daily “A Poem should not say But Be”. A statement as such must personally be defined, “as for me the definition grows in dept as I learn to hold my pen tighter”. A writer of poetry long before he met Slam or even knew Slam Poetry existed. “I believe words written should always matter because once you gather alphabets grouping them in sentences and paragraphs they are not just alphabets”.
Born in Dallas, Texas performed in local venues from Reciprocity, Dallas Slams (Clebo Rainey), Internet Cafe and all the others that came after that. Performed with the Zwadi Writers in different locations from Dallas to Fort Worth and became attached. Aided in forming Fort Worth Slams and was a member of the Team the first 8 years of it’s inception. Was the coach of Fort Worth Slam Team in 2006. Has been working with schools from elementary to college doing creative writing classes before labeling them creative writing classes, because he was asked to come and speak. Maybe given a stipend for coming out but found true value and humility in being asked to present work someone else saw worthy of others hearing. Now a full time poet featuring throughout this great nation hoping somewhere between the stage and the page words will take up residence in the mind of the listeners and live on. Thank you for taking a moment to read. Peace and Blessings.
